There is no single best airbrush makeup. There is the right airbrush formula for your skin, in the weather you will actually be standing in, applied in the places that need it. Here is how we choose between silicone, water-based and hybrid airbrush makeup.

• Dry, mature or textured skin: a hybrid, so the base stays thin and the skin keeps its softness.
• Freckles you love: spot or contour only.
• Deep skin tones: shade matching and undertone come first; the formula follows your skin type like anyone else’s.

Is alcohol-based airbrush makeup safe for the face?

It is not what we use on a face. Alcohol-based formulas, often sold as waterproof, are built for tattoo cover-ups and special effects; on a face they dry out, crack where the face creases and cannot be touched up.
